In October 2018, the Genting Group announced that they were not opposed to reopening the Resorts World Las Vegas casino complex, which is located on the site of the abandoned Echelon on the Las. Resorts World Las Vegas is a hotel and casino currently under construction on the Las Vegas Strip in Winchester, Nevada, United States, planned to open in summer 2021.The property had been the site of the Stardust Resort and Casino until 2007, when Boyd Gaming demolished the resort to develop its Echelon Place project.

The Drew is hoping to be one day be the biggest and most lavish resort in Las Vegas. Today, it’s the biggest eyesore on the Strip. The shell of the property was constructed years ago when it was set to open as the Fontainebleu in 2008. However, the economic downtown and recession changed all that. The hotel never opened and remains a blemish on the Strip skyline. At 735 feet, it’s the tallest building in Vegas if you don’t count the Strat.
The unfinished resort is now in the hands of the Witkoff Group, who is planning to finally open it as The Drew in partnership with Marriott. Little progress has been made so far and the opening date has been pushed back until at least 2022. Smoke damage from a fire is rumored to be a major factor in the setbacks. The Drew is so big, it can only fail or succeed on a grand scale. When it finally opens, it will be the most talked about Strip hotel in years. Otherwise, the only answer is a good old fashioned Vegas implosion.
The wait is over. We now know the name of the new resort being built by Derek and Greg Stevens, owners of The D and Golden Gate.

The new hotel-casino is scheduled to open in 2020 and sits on the site of the former Las Vegas Club.
Derek Stevens said, “There is a lot of unmet demand for fun in Las Vegas. At Circa, our goal will be to create a destination resort in a historic part of the city, while showing guests the time of their lives. We plan to double down on the world-class service Las Vegas has always been known for while bringing personalized experiences to a new level.”
